We would like to take this opportunity to introduce St Peters Football Club Academy. The Academy will be run for children between the ages of 4 and 8 years old. When they reach their final year of the Academy each child will be able to participate in an Under 8’s team managed by one of the Academy coaches.
The Academy is structured this way to enable each player to have enjoyed three years of learning soccer skills in a fun and safe environment with the fourth and fifth year playing in a non competitive Under 8’s Wicklow District Schoolboy League.
We aim to produce two to three Under 9’s teams every year to play in a competitive Wicklow District Schoolboys League.
The Academy is very aware that your “Junior Shooters” (5 & 6 year olds) prefer to chase crocodiles or knock down buildings with bull dozers – so that is exactly what will happen, with a ball, because we’re not taking the fun away. We emphasise fun!
The Academy is here to provide young players between the ages of 4 to 8 years old with the latest coaching techniques – both from our National Association and from soccer associations worldwide.
The Academy’s coaches are certified and experienced in dealing with young players of varying ability who are beginning their adventure into this wonderful sport.
The emphasis of the Academy is to promote healthy recreation in an enjoyable as well as challenging environment, helping the youngest of footballers to adapt towards the progression of improving as a player each year.
